If the ads on the top and bottom corner of the website bother you, you can block them using the extension "Adblock" on Google Chrome. All you need to do is:
1. Download the extension from the store that is located in chrome://apps/
2. Go to the website, click on the Adblock extension,
and it will give you an option to "Block an ad on this page". Do that, and they will ask you to click the ad on the page. Mouse over the ad until it is fully highlighted. Then just do the rest it tells you and VOILA! The ads are gone!
Just to let you know...
So that's why we have made this website, to give Durfee students the chance to contribute to an effort. It also provides a chance to let kids know about events in our school, student council news and to connect– by the click of a mouse!
How did this get started?
I, Ammy Hernandez, had ideas of making a school website where the kids can be informed and be a part of something. I told this to Mr. Sais, who soon found a website developer called Wix by which this website was created. I presented it to the Leadership class, who became excited be the first ones to work with The Durfee Times– which was the name we came up with and voted upon. They then elected me as the Editor-In-Chief of this cool website. Once I settled all the details, I started offering administrative positions to any Leadership students who wanted to take charge of parts of the website. So here they are!
