Pauley Pavilion Flood

by Frances Wukmir

The Pauley Pavilion was hit, and not by a tornado, by water. It was July 29, 2014 when the Pauley Pavilion had a major flood which was caused when the main water pipe broke. The flood ruined the 136 million dollar renovations they had made to the school’s sports court, and they had only had the renovations for less than two years. The water had submerged from Sunset Boulevard. The water was ankle high and not easy to get through according to the students of UCLA. As of the morning the event happened, the water was so high they had to take off there shoes so they wouldn’t weigh the students down. After the students has found out the locker room and bottom floor was flooded some of them brought their boogie boards. There on the grounds of UCLA laid eight to ten million gallons of water. The Pauley Pavilion was happily back to normal as November 15.
