Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

“Too much water”-IGN

By Ricardo Gutierrez

The new game to come to the 3DS and 2DS handheld gaming consoles is being played all over the world and is one of the most played games to come to the handheld gaming world. The remakes of the Gameboy Advanced games Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire surprised the fans of the series.

Gameplay (Major Spoilers!)

Throughout the game you can choose to play as a male or a female character who lives in a world where creatures called Pokemon exists. In this world you find out that you can catch these creatures using items called Pokeballs and train the Pokemon. In the game as you catch and train you also find out you can use them to battle other “trainers” with pokemon and you meet someone who will become your rival/friend. You also discover a team called either Team Magma or Team Aqua depending on the game you play ( Omega Ruby has Team Magma and Alpha Sapphire has Team Aqua). They are the “bad guys” in the game. Team Magma plans to expand the land mass using a powerful “legendary pokemon” known as Groudon, the land mass pokemon. Team Aqua however plans to expand the sea using a legendary pokemon known as Kyogre, the sea basin pokemon. You must stop them whilst battling your rival, catching new pokemon, exploring, and battling people called “gym leaders.” These gym leaders are well, the leaders of places called gyms which are required to beat in order to progress in the storyline. After beating all of the gyms (there are 8 gyms in total) and defeating the team of your game. After that you travel to the “Pokemon League.” This is where the best trainers in the region are and where you will battle the “Pokemon League Champion” but to battle the champion you must first defeat four powerful trainers known as the “Elite Four.” After defeating the Champion is when the game ends. Yet even after the end of the game there is much that you can do on your own.
